Phillips Joins Gov. Bentley Announcing Educational Program

Glenn S. Phillips speaking at Press Conference for the Alabama Microsoft IT Academy on November 20, 2012Forte' President Glenn S. Phillips joined Alabama Governor Robert Bentley and Alabama Department of Education Superintendent Dr. Thomas R. Bice in announcing the Alabama Microsoft IT Academy Program.

The statewide will add training and certification for Microsoft’s Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint software to student curriculum.

Governor Bently stressed that such public-private are a key to economic development.

Phillips stressed the need for a workforce that already understands the basic tools of business and that computer programs are now as basic in may businesses as pencil and paper. Using word processors and spreadsheets are critical skills for inexperienced workers necessary to even be considered for many jobs, even entry-level jobs.
